Buttery Dinner Rolls curtesy of Tiffani

(recipe adapted from Delicious Dinner Rolls from How Does She)

time: hour 2 (including rise & bake)
yield: 4 dozen

ingredients:
2 cups hot tap water
2 Tbs. yeast
1 Tbs. sugar

1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 cube butter

1 egg
1 Tbs. salt
2 cups flour

7-8 cups flour

instructions:
1. mix yeast & 1 Tbs. sugar into hot tap water and set aside
2. add milk, 3/4 cup sugar, and cube of butter in the microwave for 2 minutes
3. put milk mixture in your mixer with bread hook attachment, stir in the egg, 2 cups flour, and salt
4. add the yeast mixture
5. gradually stir in 7-8 cups more flour (the dough should pull away from the sides and be a dense sticky consistency)
6. let your mixer knead the dough on medium for 10 minutes (this replaces the first rise)
7. butter or spray 2 cookies sheets and set them aside
8. cover your workspace with flour to prevent the dough from sticking, dump your dough out and divide into 4 balls
9. using one ball of dough at a time; roll the dough out to a circle (approx. 12 inches in diameter)
10. spread the top with melted butter from edge to edge
11. cut the dough into quarters using a pizza cutter, then cute each quarter in thirds (you should end up with 12 triangles from each circle of dough)
12. roll each triangle starting with the outer edge (largest side) rolling and tucking towards the center, tuck the end tail under and place on cookie sheet
13. you will make 3 rows with 8 per row, spaced 1/2 inch apart
14. preheat oven 350 degrees, place the pans of rolls in a warm place to rise, once they have doubled in size and are touching they are ready for the oven
15. bake 15-20 minutes, when fresh out of the oven brush the tops with the remaining butter
